Christmas Memories

When I was 9 years old my family moved from Texas to Tennessee. I had heard that it snowed in Tennessee so I very excited about the possibility of a white Christmas even though my parents told me numerous times not to count on it.

My grandmother flew in from Texas to spend Christmas with us. Christmas Eve night I got up in the middle of the night and looked out the window to see if it had snowed. After about the fifth time getting up, my grandmother told me to get back in bed and forget about the snow.

Christmas morning we woke up to nine inches of snow. It was AWESOME!!!!! Santa had come and left presents under the tree, but we didn't care. My brother, sister and I spent the entire day outside sledding, having snowball fights and making snow angels.

When we sat down for dinner there were still unopened presents under the tree. The snow was the best Christmas present ever!!!

I'm hoping for a white Christmas this year! :)

What about you? What are your favorite Christmas memories?

That is a great memeory :) My favorite Christmas memory was when my dad climbed up on top of the roof of the house to walk around and jingle bells so me and my sister would think Santa had arrived! I was probably 5 or 6 years old.

My favorite memory was at the age of 6 years old when the time seemed bleak for receiving(I was a kid so..) the gifts I really wanted. I over heard my parents discussing their financial dilemma a couple of weeks before and was a bit saddened. I shared this with my brother and told him to let mom & dad know that presents were not important and we should just celebrate by just being together. They were marveled a bit by this and I chimed in with agreement. I think it touched their hearts more than we knew. Needless to say, that was the biggest Christmas ever! My Dad received an unexpected bonus from his job and my parents figured that if we could be selfless at 5 & 6 years of age, they could be too and showered us with gifts galore! I'll never forget the gifts and more so the experience with my Dad, Mom, and Little Brother that year.
